About Us
Ether is an independent monthly digital magazine of literature, arts, culture, and politics. Helmed by students of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research, Thiruvananthapuram, it was started with a vision to let individuals channel their creativity, and host the plethora of talent that they have. Born out of the boredom, confusion, and frustration of the pandemic, Ether has been regularly releasing monthly issues since October 2020.
Academia is not an easy world to live in. Constantly demanding more and more of us, it is important to have healthy outlets to de-stress and shift focus onto writing, music, or art. This is where Ether comes in.
However, we’re a lot more than just a publication. Slowly, we strive to become a platform for all manners of discourse and debate, a place where your thoughts can find companions. In the coming year, Ether hopes to expand into a more accessible digital platform, and to discuss the various facets of today’s ever-changing world—political events, history, architecture, internet trends, films, and sociocultural phenomena. The access to (largely) unrestricted information has the potential to foster a community of thriving individuals, and we want to be the first step towards that future.
Ether’s principal publication around which a myriad of content revolves, is the monthly mag. Backed by an enthusiastic board of editors and artists, Ether also aims to foster discourse and engage the readers, collaborating with various magazines, clubs and online platforms that share a similar goal, to expand our reach and diversify the content.
